Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-09-12
These Terms govern use of trim.page (the "Service"). The Service is currently offered as a beta and may change in later versions after notice.
1. Status of the Service
trim.page is an intermediary and hosting provider that stores and transmits URLs and preview metadata (title, description, image) that users directly enter and request. The Service stores content created or requested by users at their request, automatically and passively, without pre-screening, editing, or reviewing the content before it is published. trim.page does not derive a direct financial benefit from a specific link's infringing activity, even where it has the right and ability to control that activity (in the sense of Article 102(1)(3)(a) of the Korean Copyright Act).
2. Definitions
"Link" means the combination of a user-registered original URL and the short URL that replaces it. "Preview" means the title, description, image, and other metadata shown when a link is shared on a social platform.
3. User representations and warranties
Users represent and warrant that they hold the lawful right or license to publish, modify, and distribute all content they register with the Service, including URLs, images, and text. Users warrant that registered content does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights, and that content was not collected or republished in a manner the source site expressly prohibits (bypassing login walls, bypassing bot-blocking measures, violating the source site's terms of service, etc.).
4. Prohibited conduct
Users must not engage in conduct prohibited under the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Violations may result in a link being blocked, or an account being suspended or terminated, without prior notice.
5. Repeat infringer account termination policy
The Service operates a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are repeatedly reported or sanctioned for infringement, including copyright infringement ("repeat infringers"). Where valid infringement reports against the same user are repeatedly received and substantiated, the Service may, after notice, permanently terminate that user's account and all associated links.
6. Copyright infringement notice and takedown procedure
Pursuant to Article 103 of the Korean Copyright Act (Korean Copyright Act §103, suspension of reproduction and transmission), a rights holder who believes their rights have been infringed may submit a report, together with supporting materials and a reply-to email address, to the designated agent below. Designated agent: abuse@trim.page. Reports, counter-notices, and resumption notices are handled manually by the designated agent through that mailbox. Upon receiving a valid report, the Service will, without delay (on a business-day basis, processed manually by the designated agent), suspend reproduction and transmission of the reported link and notify the original poster at the email address on file for their account. Where a valid counter-notice (request for reinstatement) is received, the Service will, without delay (on a business-day basis, processed manually by the designated agent), notify the rights holder (the original reporting party), at the email address provided in the report, of the counter-notice and the scheduled date on which reproduction and transmission will resume, pursuant to Article 103(3) of the Korean Copyright Act. Unless the rights holder notifies the Service, before that scheduled date, that a lawsuit concerning the alleged infringement has been filed, the Service will resume reproduction and transmission of the link on the scheduled date, pursuant to Article 103(4) of the Korean Copyright Act.
7. Temporary measures
Pursuant to Article 44-2 of Korea's Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (§44-2), where information is alleged to infringe another person's rights, such as privacy or reputation, the Service may temporarily restrict access to that information for up to 30 days.
8. Indemnification
If a dispute arises with a third party, or the Service incurs damages, as a result of content a user registered or the user's use of the Service, the user must resolve the matter at their own cost and responsibility, and must indemnify and hold the Service harmless from any resulting damages.
9. Limitation of liability
The Service has no obligation to pre-review the accuracy or lawfulness of content users register, and as an intermediary is not liable for damages arising from content users post, except where caused by the Service's intent or gross negligence.
10. Changes to these Terms
The Service is a beta product; these Terms may be revised after notice. A revision unfavourable to users is announced in the app and on this page at least seven days before it takes effect; other revisions take effect once posted within the Service. No backward compatibility is guaranteed.
11. Contact
For questions about these Terms, contact abuse@trim.page. This is a beta service operated by an independent developer; the business name and registration number will be published here once the service is registered.
